HME

Problem:

HME, a manufacturer of fire trucks, utility vehicles, and other on-the-road service vehicles, experienced rapid and sustainable growth in recent years. However, as their demand increased, they began facing challenges with a legacy supplier who was unable to meet quality and delivery expectations. This created risks to their production timelines and vehicle quality.

Solution:

Leveraging a past connection, Brian secured an introduction that led to ArcFlo being awarded initial harness work. We fulfilled expectations and quickly resolved a quality issue in a way that impressed HME, establishing trust early in the relationship. As we delivered more harnesses, we began offering value-added feedback on design and layout improvements. HME later visited our facility to assess our quality processes and production capacity. Following that visit, they approved a major increase in business and engaged us to collaborate on design improvements.

Result:

ArcFlo became a trusted partner, not only taking on a larger share of harness production but also contributing to key design optimizations. For example, we redesigned a harness originally built with well over a hundred clustered splices, an approach that was costly and difficult to manufacture. Our team significantly reduced the number of splices, simplified the splice type, minimized wire usage, and ultimately lowered overall costs. ArcFlo is now actively working with HME to reduce inefficiencies, eliminate supply chain risks, and simplify harness designs across their product line.
