Getman

Problem:

Getman Corporation, an OEM of underground mining equipment, initiated a full design review of their mechanical Scaler product line. One of the main objectives was to modernize the electrical system, integrating new controls, new electrical enclosures, and making it easier to service. To achieve this, they needed a harness partner who could contribute meaningfully to both design and execution.

Solution:

ArcFlo partnered with Getman throughout the development process, starting with early concept drawings and layout logic. Our team provided actionable feedback on connector styles, finishing options like braiding, and introduced the idea of functional wire identifiers to support future troubleshooting. One key recommendation was to install the full set of prototype harnesses without protective covering, allowing for easier layout adjustments and design refinements. Once finalized, the harnesses were removed, finished, and reinstalled—establishing a new standard for prototype builds.

Result:

The collaboration led to a more efficient harness design, reduced supplier risk, and a higher quality product. ArcFlo’s proactive involvement helped streamline the development cycle and improve serviceability for future units. The prototype approach we introduced is now the baseline for future Getman prototypes, reinforcing our role as a trusted design and production partner.
